[Cialug] hp boot problems

Local Ukrainian friend (green card legal) bought a new HP dv6704nr. Vista
went south on it. Gives a boot mgr error. tinyurl.com/32scrr page shows not
uncommon problem.

Have loaded Ubuntu 64bit ok but atheros wifi issues- ar5007 card.

Any suggestions on how to get something working on lappy?
