The old computer power supplies had a plug-in for the monitor.  Didn't those turn off when the computer was turned off?  

Besides in the glorious days we used power strips and flipped the switch to off after everything was shut down.  No transformers in idle mode.  Man we were much greener back before energy star.

But we're in the age that nobody can use a switch, even here at work we have motion sensors and timers in the bathroom.  How difficult is it to turn off the light when leaving a room?  Now I sit in the dark if I think a little to long.  Anybody know of a glow-in-the-dark toilet paper supplier?
