[Cialug] Linux in an AD environment

I have, on occasion, downloaded a FreeDOS cd image, extracted the
contents, added the drivers off the floppy, and re-rolled the ISO.  That
way, you can boot DOS and run the firmware/driver upgrades without
having a floppy.

Granted, a USB floppy is easier, but not nearly as cool.  :)

I'll drag this further off topic.  It's even worse when there is no 
floppy, yet the hardware vendor insists on sending firmware upgrades on 
a floppy.  Firmware you need to even start a cd/network based 
installation of linux/windows/other.

We (meaning me) finally bought a usb floppy just for that sort of thing.
