[Cialug] "Microsoft takes on the free world"

Yeah, this is exactly the kind of business I was expecting out of MS,
after the partnership deal with Suse. IMHO this is a build up to having
a linux distribution that is fully blessed and licensed by MS.

I don't see how MS is going to try to enforce "getting paid for their
IP" unless they're going to threaten every other Linux distribution if
they don't pay a licensing fee.

IANAL - but from what I understand, Software Patents haven't really been
tried or upheld by the courts yet. But that hasn't stopped several
high-profile lawsuits, that usually end up getting settled out of court.

But, forget about this jive, some loser wants to take our blinky lights
away. I've always thought that the more blinky lights a gadget has, the
better.
