I ran into a funny one while checking a Fedora Core 3 system
yesterday.  There was a patch to the tzdata package already applied,
but when I checked the /etc/localtime file, it did not appear to be
applied.  The update changed the files under /usr/share/zoneinfo, but
did not update the /etc/localtime file.

My fix was to remove the file and then symlink it to
/usr/share/zoneinfo/America/Chicago.
