[Cialug] Meeting agendas, locations, etc

For a while, I was pushing agendas, lining up people to give
presentations at the meetings, etc. Then things got a little busy.
As I see it, the group as a whole wants the following things:
1) To meet downtown, on the West side, on the North side, and in Ames.
2) To have structure to the meetings (to attract people) and no
structure (so meetings are fun)
...
Right.
Anyway, since I obviously don't have to time to line people up on a
monthly basis, here's what I suggest. I have made an "editorial
calendar" of meeting topics over here:
http://www.cialug.org/ewiki/?id=Meeting+Calendar . The basic idea
is that if we have a "theme" for each meeting, it will be easier to get
people to think of topics. This way we can get some presentations
going. I have also added an "activity" for each meeting, so that we can
get our fun unstructured time in too.
I suggest that we start the next meeting by picking a list of locations
and assigning people to reserve the space for next future meetings. The
agenda for the next meeting is at
http://www.cialug.org/ewiki/?id=Meeting+Agenda
Also, if you scroll down on the meeting calendar page, you'll note that
I've added some non-meeting fun stuff that we've done and might want to
do again.
As usual, use the power of the wiki to make changes if you like. I
expect that folks might have something to say about this at the meeting
on Wednesday. If you need the keys to the wiki, email me. If I
recognize your name, I'll give them to you. If I don't, you'll need to
get the keys from someone who does. Consider it a web of trust in honor
of this month's activity.
As always, you can also share your thoughts on the mailing list, either
by hitting "reply" or by telneting to port 25 at 209.234.66.81
