Why mess with DVDs? Just download the CD image of Feisty and install
that. Your laptop can boot burned CDs, right? All packages you would
need you can just get via apt, with the front end of your choice.
You may not want to do this because you already burned the DVD, but
it's a sunk cost. Your life will be easier just using the CD, whether
or not you already burned a DVD.
Most OS installs I have done have been some form of Debian netinst,
where the install image was small enough to fit on a business card
mini-CD, and the real meat and potatoes were loaded on-demand from
apt.
