Todd,
I started out with Red Hat in the 90's, I shifted to SuSE when Red Hat
started shipping with so many things crippled. And a few other changes they
made that I found irritating.
Today I have both SuSE and Ubuntu. Ubuntu seems to be better at finding
drivers for older or odd hardware. And they seem to be rapidly catching up
in a lot of other areas. I installed Ubuntu 7.04 the other day and installed
the Nvidia 3d drivers. This weekend I will get Beryl/Compiz working.
Ubuntu seems to be working hard at making life easier and less work, while at
the same time not screwing up all of the things I like about Linux/Unix.
Just my 2 cents.
