This isn't Linux or BSD related but I thought some of you may be
interested in this. I've included some information from the website
below. See the website for full details. I would encourage you to sign
up to give a 5-minute talk.

IgniteIT http://www.igniteit.org

IgniteIT will be held on Thursday, April 26th, 2007 as part of the
Emerging Technologies Conference (http://www.vrac.iastate.edu/etc2007/).
The event is free and open to the public, but you must register as an
attendee in order to attend or present.

IgniteIT will be held at the Rotunda in the Iowa State University
Research Park in Ames, Iowa.

IgniteIT is THE networking opportunity for Iowa's information technology
community.

Our mission is to spark imaginations, connect people, create new
technology opportunities in Iowa and have a lot of fun in the process.

Former Apple technology evangelist and current Silicon Valley venture
capitalist, Guy Kawasaki will be in attendance.

Tentative Schedule

7pm : Eat and Drink

We're planning on having an open bar and plenty of snack food. There
will be some good networking opportunities here. If you're going to last
the night however, we would suggest getting dinner beforehand.

8pm : Communicate

A series of rapid-fire 5-minute presentations on all things tech in a
casual atmosphere.

9pm (or thereabouts) : Connect

We'll have a good break to provide a change to meet and talk with people
in Iowa's IT community. Sponsors will have tables of stuff to check out
and people to meet. Interested in a table for recruiting or to show off
your wares? See our sponsorship page. Students will also be showcasing
IT related research. 10pm (or thereabouts) : Laugh

We're going to have a round of Powerpoint Karaoke. This might be new to
you, but it's all the rage. Presenters ad-lib a short talk around
randomly selected powerpoint slides drawn from the web. It's either
laugh-out loud funny or horribly tragic. Either way, it's good fun.

11pm (or thereabouts) : Retire
