Another option that you might try, is system-config-netboot in an RPM-based
distro (which seems to be your case). It allows a single server to dish out
pre-established images on-the-fly and save the state across reboots.
You'll want a PXE-boot, and tftp server, and a pre-rolled image. Once you have
these three things, you have the capability of rolling out any number of
systems on the fly.
(/me does bootless clusters in this manner, but with a Debian twist.)
