Dave,
If you are thinking desktops (not laptops) you should at least look into the
LTSP (linux terminal server project). They have a lot of nice options. I
think I'm going to set a small one up at work for unrestricted browsing.
(no I.E. type security issues)

Subject: [Cialug] Linux Desktop
I was thinking about the adoption of the "linux desktop" for joe user. It
dawned on me that I hadn't even considered BSD as an option.
For the people I know I know, the issue is multimedia. (opening for Dave to
make a Mandriva plug) Email and word processing are now minor
issues. Anyone have any thoughts/suggestions regarding the
"useability" of one of the BSD's for joe average windows user?
Please assume that in this context, I will have some control over the
hardware and printers being used and that OSX is not an option.
:) Dave
