[Cialug] Soyo k7vme / VIA 8233 audio not working on Ubuntu 6.06

Unfortunately, this didn't help.

dlg at pedro:/etc/modprobe.d$ cat blacklist-modem

blacklist snd-via82xx-modem

reboot, no change.

looks like i'll be filing a bug report at launchpad.net (does
anyone else find the site generally difficult to navigate?)
