I'm afraid I don't have a good solution for you. However, I just recently
setup a Red Hat 9 web server behind an Actiontec DSL modem / router. After
running into port forwarding issues. I finally gave up on the built-in
router and changed the Actiontec to bridge mode and used my own Netgear
router behind it.

I've got a QWest Actiontec DSL wireless router that's being a real
pain. It keeps managing to send a nameserver value of 192.168.0.1,
and it goes into /etc/resolv.conf. It's confused both Debian 3 and
the latest Ubuntu, while OS X Tiger handles it just fine. When this
happens, DNS breaks on the Linux distro and I have to manually edit
the file to take out the offending line before I can resume using the
net.

It auto changes resolv.conf and introduces that garbage every time
the router gets a new IP address.

Can you suggest where in the router I can stop it from suggesting
that incorrect IP address? 192.168.0.1 is what I normally use for
configuring the router.

The configuration options the router offers include:

WAN IP Address
Wireless Settings
Wireless Authentication
Wireless Advanced Settings
LAN IP Address
DHCP Server
Services Blocking
Website Blocking
Remote Management
Port Forwarding
DMZ Hosting
Firewall
Dynamic Routing
NAT
Static Routing
Telnet Timeout Setting

warm wishes,
Darcy
