Job Description
Support the installation, use and retirement of Sun Solaris and Linux operating system software. Primary contacts include Sun, IBM,
Platform and PolyServe corporations, UNIX/Windows Systems Administrators, Database Administrators, Application Developers, various
support groups, Production Services and Data Center Operations. Duties/Responsibilities Support the installation of Sun Solaris and
Linux operating system software in support of business and technical objectives. Customize installation to optimize fit with the
overall processing environment. Investigate and apply Solaris and Linux system software upgrades to maintain release currency,
maintain security, or to resolve problems. Coordinate installation and upgrade activities with the Windows/Database system
administrators and other IM groups to minimize downtime. Estimate and communicate resource requirements prior to software
installation or upgrades.
