M0n0wall recently released a newer beta ver 1.2 Beta 7. Thier configuratio=
n seems rather pretty cool: "The entire system configuration is stored in=
one single XML text file to keep things transparent. m0n0wall is probabl=
y the first UNIX system that has its boot-time configuration done with PH=
P, rather than the usual shell scripts, and that has the entire system co=
nfiguration stored in XML format."

If you're looking for an opensource firewall, and aren't specific
about using Linux, you may want to check out m0n0wall at
http://www.m0n0.ch/wall/

It's based on FreeBSD, and can install on compact flash, or a CDROM.
