I decided to do a hard boot of the server and since it came back up
things seem normal again. I'll have to watch for the core files and
see if I can determine what happens before they show up again.<br>

I'll keep all the other advice to use next time this happens.<br>

core file is. Please correct and add to this definition. A "core"
file is what is produced when a binary program crashes. This file
contains different information to let the developer know what the last
state of the program was in when it crashed. </font></p>

<br>
<font size="2">stack dumps</font>
<br>
<font size="2">stack traces</font>
<br>
<font size="2">debugging strings </font>
