I use Blosxom, http://www.blosxom.com/ , which is good if you have
your own server and like keeping your entries in the filesystem and
editing them with your preferred editor.  Although the initial
installation is extremely simple, a few of features you'd expect in a
blog are implemented as plugins which have to be downloaded
separately, however there's also a ton of cool plugins for it too.  If
you know Perl, or use one of several other Blosxom ports in different
languages, it's very easy to write plugins for most anything you'd
think of doing.
