One thing to check that may help even more is to see what the card is
actually running at. I know that a lot of our Intel cards come up 100
half duplex with autonegotiate on. This doesn't work well in our
environment where they expect everything to be 100 full autoneg off. You
can check it out in RH9 with "ethtool eth0" or "mii-tool eth0". Read up
on the man pages for setting it manually or in /etc/modules.conf add:
alias eth0 e100
options e100 e100_speed_duplex=4,4
