[Cialug] K3B question

I am getting ready to upgrade from SuSE 9.0 to 9.3.  I want to save my home 
dir and everything in it including all of the files under /home/Steve/.kde

In past upgrades with RH or SuSE I have never figured out a way to install 
everything new, except my home directory and everything under it.

So I have been backing up everything to a cd or dvd using K3B but I cannot get 
it to copy the hidden dirs such as .kde   I have gone over the K3B options 
until I am blue in the face but I have not been able to get it to copy the 
hidden dirs.  Am I just missing something or will K3B just not do this?
