problem solved. turned out to be some lame p2p blocking program that i
was fiddling with on my router. i thought i had it setup wrong. turns
out i did have it setup wrong. it was blocking more than p2p. it was
blocking almost everything. took it off now and everything is hunky
dory. :) i feel like an ass for yelling at that mediacom dude. i still
won't call them again for help.
