May be able to afford 100 tb by then. The raid cards will be cheaper
anyway.

did i say 100TB? if so i ment 1TB. i expect to spend the most on the
actual disks. no idea yet. since i'm leaving on a deployment in a month
i'm going to wait to do this until i get back in a few years. no point
in doing it now and having out of date technology in 2 years, right? not
to mention the chance of having to replace some of the drives w/o really
using them.
i'll also pry use it to archive tv shows on.
