mdadm doesn't do anything (megaraid is HW RAID, md is the soft RAID). =
raidtools2 happens to be more utilities for the same..

According to the array stats, the drive is fine. Is there any way to =
check per drive error rates, etc in an array on a live system?

Have you tried mdadm or raidtools?
