I'm still having issues with my PVR-250 card. I can get everything to
load, but I'm guessing there's a problem with the Tuner module or
something... it will start the MythTV backend & frontend, and even let
me change channels, but only shows snow. I haven't messed with it too
much lately, I got frustrated with it and put it on the back burner.

My current project is getting my WinXP PC restored. I've now lost my 2nd
IBM / Hitachi Deskstar, the last one died 11 1/2 months ago, and the
replacement they sent me is now out of warranty. I do move that PC
around a lot - it's a Shuttle XPC I take to LAN parties. Last year it
died right after I brought it home from an event. This time it started
acting wonky about a week after an event. I try to be careful not to
drop it or anything... so I'm kind of concerned about why this keeps
happening.
Any suggestions for a good robust IDE drive? I used to hate Maxtors for
this same reason (I had 3 fail in about a month span), and had great
luck with IBM Deskstars. Now that I've been bitten twice on these, I'm
tempted to try something else.
