It's not bull, it's just not understood what it means.<div><br></div><div>Cable modems share the bandwidth between you and your ISP. That means that the traffic can get bogged down and never leave your house.</div>
<div><br></div><div>DSL has a dedicated connection between you and your ISP. You are guaranteed to get to their equipment, which is most likely better prepared to deal with congestion.</div><div><br></div><div>In both cases, the ISP most likely has oversold the bandwidth of their uplink. This means that if everyone on the ISP jumped onto youtube, you would see slowdowns with service. However, the way that cable modems deal with it, those slowdowns are much more severe than how DSL handles it.<br>

</div><div class="im">I know I'm late but just wanted to mention that that's bull. I always<br>
believed the same until I got screwed. Your DSL line might still be<br>
congested if your neighborhood is using a lot of bandwidth. And Qwest<br>
doesn't guarantee anything either. Just read my earlier mails on CIALUG.<br>

Good luck,<br>
