Files do not lose data when played or executed. The .mov file is standard quicktime container which could have a codec of mpeg 4, h.264 or other codec. This is a very compatible QT file. However, not all software plays it well. If you need to convert your .mov files to other conatiners or codecs, you will need to upgrade to quicktime pro. Converting to an .Avi container is possible using QT but QT limits this to .dv codecs which are very large files. QT does not support .wmv, however, there is a free 3rd party driver (component) made by Flip4Mac that allows QT to play .wmv files. Flip4Mac has an upgrade called wmv studio, that allows QT to export to a .wmv file (windows media). You can find Flip4Mac at <a href="http://www.Flip4Mac.com">www.Flip4Mac.com</a>. I would recommend that they use a .wmv or a .avi file. Those files hold up much better. This could be why we are losing these signs in the rotation.
