Vicki, Have you seen my article on managing email lists? I've devoted an entire email address for all list traffic, just so that I can use google webmail with it, as well as being able to break away from list traffic without breaking away from regular email.

You might as well also check with discussions of iPhone data roaming
use issues == the same issue applies, what you up and download may or
may not be enough to go over the 5G -- depends on your usage. I
think emails might not matter so much but web surfing, video stuff
etc. might. You could do what I do and have a Gmail account to
access my email when traveling and a separate one that is for my
iPhone and from which I have deleted all listserves and anything else
that I really don't need on the iphone but could get later at a web
cafe. By stripping down my iPhone GMail account to essentials I'm
usually pretty safe on data use, though I haven't monitored it
lately. I'll check into it as of this past holiday and if I find
something out will let you know.
