respond.</title>
<div>The domain name [dmmug.org] is coming due in late July.
Obviously, it will cost to renew it. Right now we have the
volunteer assistance of David McLaughlin maintaining it, and we hope
to continue that at least for the short term.<br>
</div>
<div>The attendance at the meetings has fallen off and during the
summer months might be even more spotty. The question arises
whether [1] we should just cancel summer meetings and plan to start up
again in September and/or [2] we stop holding meetings entirely and
move to a blog/listserve format.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>We could set up a Yahoo or Google Group or a blog with Blogger or
Typepad or whatever...and then whoever wants to post can and whoever
wants to reply can easily enough. If there is a need for a
physical meeting we can do that, but we'd move to an electronic
list/blog format.</div>
<div><br>
We can be a physical or online group:
http://www.apple.com/usergroups/find/</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>That doesn't answer the question of how to fund the renewal cost
of the domain name, of course. Since people don't want dues, we
don't have a treasury nor any funds from which to pay for the name or
web space or anything else, frankly.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>Right now, myself, Ray Bowler, Holly Welch and Dave McLaughlin
are self-appointed as execs or leaders of this group.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div><b>Is there anyone who wants to take over or join the exec
list??? </b></div>
<div><br></div>
<div>By July 10th, we will make a decision on the above issues.
We need to know what<b> you</b> think and hope you'll send the
information to the list so we can discuss this.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>Your input is essential and your lack of input will be telling.
Thanks much.</div>
