A failed logic board would be replaced up to 3 years from original purchase date (as if the machine had been under Applecare, but only for the logic board). All of the covered machines are now well over three years old.<div><br></div><div>I'm not certain I'd trust an 800MHz iBook as my primary machine.</div><div><br></div><div>Peace,</div><div>CW</div><div><br></div><div><br><div><div>On Jul 25, 2008, at 9:35 AM, j lagnese wrote:</div><br class="Apple-interchange-newline"><blockquote type="cite"><div dir="ltr">The problem with iBooks of that vintage is that they were under a logic board recall, and CW, you can clarify this, but I do not think the recall is in effect any longer. So while it is cheap, it is possible that it would not last very long. When I worked at Haddock, we had replacement logic boards die again within 6 months many times. The cost now would probably be about $275 for a depot repair. When you tack that on, it's not really worth it. If you can find the very last iBooks(late 2005), the 1.33/1.42 12"/14", that might be a better bet. <br> <br><div class="gmail_quote">On Fri, Jul 25, 2008 at 9:06 AM, Victoria L.
