Thank you all for
your valuable input. What a valuable resource you are. I am using a
Elements external hard drive (Western Digital). I tried SuperDuper and
it gave me a message saying it was not formatted for Macintosh and
that I should erase the hard drive!!!!!!. I guess I need to buy
another ext hard drive since I have lots of video files. Any other way
I can get around this?

intimidated Mac convert)

the harddrive is formatted for PC not Mac....I don't know what an
Elements external HD is but if you mean you saved images to the drive
and don't want to lose them, yes, get another drive [they're
relatively inexpensive these days = and CompUSA is having the closing
down sale] and start with that...what is your basic setup?? What
OS, Machine etc.

if you have Leopard you will want to use TimeMachine and you'll
need a drive for that [separate from SuperDuper]
