a bright screen. Now how on earth did one of my kitties walk across the

Came in to work on my computer and the screen is grayish, and hitting
the space bar and wiggling the mouse doesn't clear it. Restart doesn't
clear it. I'm pretty sure it's not just the cloudy-bright light making
it look darker.

Is there some dumb thing I don't know what to do, is there a light
munching virus going around, or what?
