very easy to learn and very<br>
stable. I switched to Mac in April '05. Word Processing was the<br>
hardest thing to find for me because I definitely didn't want to
use<br>
Word. I was a Windows WordPerfect user.<br>

The biggest selling point for me was the database interaction with<br>
Papyrus Word. I have a lot of forms in my practice that I use<br>
repeatedly. In the Windows world I used HotDocs to automate those<br>
forms. I couldn't find anything comparable in the Mac world. Then
I<br>
stumbled across Papyrus. It allows me set up basic forms and merge<br>
the database information into them. It doesn't completely allow
the<br>
control HotDocs did but it's closer than anything else out there
I've<br>
found.<br>

I don't exchange a lot of Word documents but the few I do have
mixed<br>
reviews in opening them in Papyrus. I think the problem is the
same<br>
with every Mac word processor ... the greater the complexity of
the<br>
Word doc (tables, etc) the less likely it'll convert well. I did<br>
receive an email in my absence that Papyrus 12.5 is now available
and<br>
apparently has improved the Word import/export feature.<br>

I do find styles a little harder to use in Papyrus Word than in
Nisus<br>
Writer Express or Mellel. But, once you get the hang of 'em
they're<br>
not too bad. For my daily practice needs it works very well. It
has<br>
many of the more advanced features (TOC, Indexing,
Cross-Referencing,<br>
etc) that seem to be lacking in most of the other popular Mac word<br>
processors (Nisus Writer Express, Mellel, etc.).<br>

On another note, I've found the developers to be very responsive.
I<br>
bought in at version 11. There were a couple of issues for which I<br>
had suggestions and I email them about those. They replied within
24<br>
hours and included it on their list of changes for version 12.
Those<br>
changes were indeed in version 12.<br>
<br>
All in all, I find Papyrus to be a worthwhile investment and a
great<br>
Mac Law Office tool.<br>
