[DM-MUG] Used iPods

Can anyone tell me any known issues with buying a used iPod (except the fact that it is used and obviously may have a problem)?  I'm thinking of buying a used iPod off ebay but I'm concerned that it may not be able to be synced up to iTunes on my computer.  There is a limit on iPods using iTunes.  Is the idea that you can only have so many iPods synced to a particular iTunes on a particular computer or is there something else to worry about?
