My suggestion is not intended to add more work but actually reduce the work. I am a webmaster myself. I prefer to create polls or whatever is needed so users add content rather than my having to copy and paste from user emails. That creates more manual work for the webmaster.

But it is up to him what he feels is the best way for him.

We're asking alot of Dave as it is.  He's a volunteer and doing a 
great job.  People can just email the list and whoever wants to use 
the info can do so == Dave will get info and put it on the site just 
fine.  Adding more work to the website is unfair to him.  Anyone who 
wants to create a blog and let Dave link to it and do something 
simple that way, is free to do so.  But he should have to do not much 
more.
