Yes, I've been eating the cost of that for several years now - we  
used to pass the hat occasionally, but I got tired of doing it. I  
suppose I could sell it... <jk>

I don't think anyone has ever thought of making dues mandatory to  
attend meetings (though I understand they do it that way at Digital  
Arts Group), what's always been proposed is Dues gets you full voting  
rights to decide what happens, etc and any perks of membership like  
the password to the MUG store. The LUG has a healthy paid membership  
roster, and, therefore can do things we can't (like fund a server,  
which happens to run our domain).
