Thanks for your response Victoria, and for the suggestion about the
playlist.

Re the question about Windows, I got it because it runs software that either
doesn't work with or isn't supported on Mac alone, including software I
already owned.

I didn't say that all I did was "write letters and check the weather." The
actual quote was a (hopefully) humorous poking fun at myself when I asked,
"Do you suppose the reasons I keep having all these problems is that its too
late in life for me to be using computers for anything except writing
letters and checking the weather?" As a professional writer/PR person until
an accident a few years ago, I've used computers many purposes including
graphics and sales, but having been out of the marketplace for several years
I'm having a significant learning curve to get back up to speed. Also,
recently I had a windfall and have been able to get some things that may
allow me to be productive again (as well as to have some meaningful
recreation as well), but the changes in computers and what's possible has
changed so exponentially that I feel almost illiterate now. Its more
complicated specially since I am not in a work environment where I can ask
others. I hope you don't MIND my emailing the list with questions, such as
the one in the email to follow this.
