And why have Windows anyway if all you do is write letters and check 
the weather?  And email the list....if you can avoid Windows and all 
those other things it requires I'd try to do that - maybe some nice 
person who needs Windows will buy these things from you?

Another suggestion is to create Smart Playlists which will put things 
inside them on iTunes [and the iPod] automatically.  I have a 
playlist for Unplayed Music and every now and then go in there to 
play the music, keep or delete it and put it in the right playlist.

Otherwise Darcy's ideas are good ones.
