In short it reproduces the grain profile of popular specific black &  
white film stocks (on color digital photos).
It's not cheap ($300) but for art photographers (especially those  
used to choosing specific film stocks for artistic reasons) this  
seems like a good way to deal with the fact that B&W film stock is  
getting thin on the ground.
