In iPhoto there is a way to do it  I think but SysPrefs/Desltops 
isn't that hard - go under the Apple menu in the top L  to get there 
fast

Photoshop Elements 4 is $99 and does everything you might need = lots 
of people like Graphics Converter as well, but I don't use it.
