[DM-MUG] Leopard runs hotter?

This is what I get from activity monitor:

kernal task 3.9
activity monitor 2.
temperature monitor 1.5
pm. tool 1.3
window server  1.?
Entourage .8
office notifications .5
dock .2
database demon .1
system server .1

Everything else is at zero. These aren't high are they? Yet the fan runs
continuously.
