Absolutely, Jon! This should be a total non-issue. Intego has done this before. They like to go to trade shows and convince people in person that there are "hundreds" of spyware threats to the Mac. Ha! No thanks.
You forgot to mention Bit Torrent and peer-to-peer in general. It doesn't necessarily have to be porn to be socially engineered garbage.
Pretty soon it won't be a matter of the "Haves and the Have Nots," it will be the those who've clicked and those who haven't.
