The board met and discussed a number of topics, among them redoing
the By Laws [I'll take a crack at it but if someone wants to
volunteer would LOVE to hear from them], and looking into other
locations for our website/mailing list for long term use. Also, I
want to remind everyone that Chris is still looking for meeting place
ideas: churches, schools, businesses, etc. Any locations that meet
the basic requirements below and are free for our use:
I asked Chris Corrice to do some legwork and he prepared the
following memo [cross-posted on the blog at dmmug.org] to request
your input.
As many of you are well aware, our group is growing! Since we are
continuing to expand we will need to investigate and secure larger
accommodations for the group and any special events planned
throughout the year. I earnestly need your assistance in locating
possible locations. I have previously investigated the libraries in
the area but the fees involved are fairly steep. Here are some points
to consider, and please feel free to add to this list:
Seating for 50-75 people
Wireless internet is a must
Available on weekends and evenings
Centrally located as best as possible.
Please contact me with any suggestion or leads that you may have. I
can be reached either through the email list or my personal email
cwcorrice at yahoo.com.
Thanks in advance for helping in growing our group!
-- we will continue to meet at Haddock until we have a good location firmed up.
