[DM-MUG] Can't Delete Items From The Trash

I have a problem an hope that someone can come up with a solution to  
this problem. I have a Mac Pro and I have about 40 files in the trash  
that I can not delete. I have tried booting to another hard drive to  
delete the files and still get the message "Localized.rsrc in use"   
and can not delete. I have tried holding down the option key when I  
empty the trash and booting from another hard drive and still get the  
same message. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
