[DM-MUG] Logitech QuickCam for Notebooks Pro, $50

Good evening all.

There was a question recently about what to use for a webcam now that  
the iSight is gone while iChat allegedly supports UVC compliant USB  
webcams. I picked up a Logitech QuickCam for Notebooks Pro at Best  
Buy for about $50 this evening, a model I selected because it was  
fairly cheap yet seemed to be UVC compliant (box says Vista &  
RightLight). I can report that it works just fine with iChat under  
10.4.10, requiring no other software. The picture and frame rate were  
both reasonably good, certainly adequate for chatting with someone in  
another state (as I did this evening). This particular camera clips  
to the lid of an open notebook, but also comes with a stand for  
desktop use and a headset with mic. I used my iBook's built-in mic,  
so can't say anything about the included mic.

The camera is also recognized by Yahoo IM and Skype, though I didn't  
attempt a chat using either. I think we can safely assume it would  
work with them as well.
