[DM-MUG] Casing coming apart at front corner

My son's Powerbook casing is coming loose in the front left corner.   He had 
sent it in and they put in a new harddrive some time ago.   Of course, a week 
or so ago, the warranty went off.   Can he just "gently" duct tape this??   
He's a college student at Cornell College.
