[DM-MUG] scanning slides - OMG!

Yeah. I once spent hours trying to get the USB ports on a 6500 to 
work(which they had previously, then I realized that the drivers were 
on the external drive which wasn't on so it was booting to the 
internal drive which had no USB drivers. :-[
