[DM-MUG] scanning slides - OMG!

re my earlier post:

when i set up the scanner at purchase nearly two years ago, i failed  
to realize that the scanner had to be connected to itself via a cable  
between the top and the bottom in order to scan film!!!!!!!
so all my extra software purchases were totally unnecessary!!!!!!
D U H ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Now, it's up to everyone else on the list to recall and share a story  
of equivalent idiocy to make me feel better!
