I'm new to the DMMUG and have never been to a meeting.Welcome!!!
> Is the place wheelchair accessible? Yes - CW at Haddock can confirm for sure.
>Does
there happen to be a membership fee? Not yet = we really do need to
have dues because the group can't do much of anything without any
budget, but we have not yet instituted them.
Is it recommended to bring anything? Yourself. We rely on Haddock
to provide liquids and 'treats' but if anyone wants to help out, let
CW know you're bringing something.
>Your laptop if you have one [Haddock has wireless which works during
>the meeting and offers a chance to 'follow along', although if we
>all get on it gets a bit slow.]
>
>To properly introduce myself, my name is Angela. I'm a long time Mac
>owner and PC user. I do
>design work, and a limited amount of website design. I think the
>only person I casually know is CW
>Smith. That's fine...nice to know you and hope you can come.
>
>Oh! Um, has anyone tried Parallels/Crossover versus Bootcamp method
>for running Windows operating
>systems on Macs? I haven't had the guts to do either one, and would
>like to get some feedback.
I did an article ref Crossover awhile ago [too long ago to matter]
but hear many positive things ref. both Bootcamp and Parallels, but
then Crossover doesn't force you to buy Windows. If you already have
Windows, depending on whether you want to restart all the time to
move between installations, you might prefer BC or Parallels. Others
here can say how it has gone for them. I dont' use them myself.
We'll start at 7p -- Bryan will show us how to use Garageband....I do
have a Q for him: can you use GarageBand to improve the
sound/loudness of a podcast or audio piece in iTunes?? I got a
series of lectures and most are fine, but one is very faint. I need
to boost it.
