[DM-MUG] 6500 (Classic) on the Internet

A 6500 will render modern Internet pages adequately over a fast 'Net
connection, it doesn't have a built-in ethernet port/card and has
only two slots. If you're ready to undertake the experiment, here's a
card for sale on eBay: <http://cgi.ebay.com/Farallon-PCI-Ethernet-

There are also USB cards available for this model still in the
channel (check Sonnettech.com), but compatibility issues in other
areas, notably browsers, makes this upgrade questionable. Browsers on
OS 9 are another subject that could take up a whole page of comments.
Suffice it to say that browsing on OS 9 could be challenging since
one browser won't support Java/Javascript/Flash/etc. properly and
another won't support CSS properly. Your mileage may vary and it
depends upon your expectations. Give it a try as a lot of pages will
be okay. Just don't be too surprised if it doesn't work out
perfectly. I have compiled a short list below of the most modern OS 9
browsers and their download URL's.

Browsers for OS 9:
Opera:

iCab (make sure to choose the proper OS from the pull-down menus):
