[DM-MUG] Sharing Websites

Hello all.
As I recently saw an invitation in the discussion here to visit a
website, thought I'd throw mine into the mix for consideration.
It's in the testing stage, so will appreciate any responses.

Below is what I wrote to some people I know about it when asking them
to have a look:

--------------------------

dear family, friends, acquaintances

if you have a moment - maybe ten minutes or so - i'd be grateful if
you'd have a look at this website.

if the password element is working and you are prompted to enter
information,
the user name is Eller
and the password is English
(username and password are case-sensitive)

it would be particularly useful to me if those of you with windows
computers would report back any difficulties you encounter.
this is scheduled to be "officially" posted for my students in a
couple of weeks, the beginning of the second semester.

i'm especially interested in finding out whether or not the links
work for you, the downloads from the "bookmarks" page, the photo
albums on the pages named by class period, and the "movie(s) of the
day" page.

you might not care to bother at all if you're limited to a dial-up
connection, but even with faster internet services a few of the pages
will take a moment to download. i find that performance on the photo
pages of class periods varies quite a bit from one attempt to open
them to another. if you click on "start slideshow," a minute or two
might elapse before it's ready to go. but you can also click on
individual thumbnails to see the pictures enlarged.

i'm no web designer and would appreciate any criticism of design
elements. i know, for example, that the off-white text against the
black background is problematic on some monitors. all comments and
suggestions are welcome.

i certainly don't expect anyone to take time out of their day for
this, but welcome your response if you do happen to have a few minutes.
this is a work that will be continually in-progress, so all feedback
is important.

thanks much

john
