There are several places that something like this can be residing...

First, check to see what is in the Login Items for your user in  
Accounts.  There may be an application there that you didn't want,  
although there may be ITunesHelper and Microsoft AU Daemon in there  
for those apps.


Next, check to see if it is user based, or system based.  Create a new  
user in Accounts and see if the problem follows you to the new user.   
If not, your problem is user bound.

If it is user bound, and not in the login items, it means that this ad  
is intentionally subversive, which I haven't heard of and instance of  
the sort on OS X.

If it follows you to the next user, it means that it can be in the / 
Library/StartupItems, or a couple other places.  If you're still  
having problems after checking the spots mentioned, please report  
back, and I will go further into more of the startup places in Leopard.
